The achievement is not the speed but the watt per clock. So far this is the lowest powered desktop processor. Apple did it because they know their software well and they made the chip based on their software design. The possible best optimization of the whole ecosystem will be there for sure. Waiting another day for the final release of Big Sur.
8 Core processors we already had before (by Intel or AMD). 8 Core graphics are also out there. But a chip with CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine? This is beauty. Not only that, they have upgraded the security chip as well. For this particular reason, I am a big fan of Apple. My data and my privacy is secured.
